Job Overview
Driving a company lorry (class 1 or 2) on multi-drop runs. Assisting, as requested and as appropriate, with the unloading/loading of the lorry at various individual drops.
Salary
Day shift: £36,775 per annum
Plus benefits, plus potential discretionary bonus, plus London allowance.
Overtime
Overtime available at time and a half, after 8 hours per day.
Shifts Available
Day shift (leaving the yard no later than 06:00): Monday to Friday (approximately 05:00 – 13:45).

Duties & Responsibilities
- Driving in accordance to all relevant road traffic and tachograph laws. Complying with all relevant legislation
- Performing daily checks at the start of shift each day prior to departure, ensuring the safety and security of loads
- Following instructions on the delivery plan and maintaining communication with the office should delays occur
- Promoting high levels of customer service, being courteous and polite throughout all deliveries, ensuring correct materials are provided efficiently
- Aiding the safe unloading of materials on customer premises in accordance with the HS&E guidelines as set by the Company
- Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times
- Being vigilant and aware of customer’s site rules and abiding by these accordingly
- Ensuring continued load security and safety
- Reporting any accidents, delivery problems, damaged products and vehicle defects to the Transport Department
- Understanding and conforming to all Company policies and procedures, specifically as stated within the Driver Handbook/Staff Handbook
- Attending all training courses when required
- Following all safe systems of work at all times. Identifying and reporting any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaising with the HS&E Department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary
- Actively engaging in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervening to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary
- Following the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances
- Following the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company’s objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact.
Experience
- Forklift / CombiLift experience is beneficial
- Experience transporting large heavy goods, strapping down loads or multi drop runs is beneficial.
Qualifications
- CPC qualification card
- Digi card
- Class 1/C+E license required.
