Circular Hollow Sections

‘First kiss at last light’ – one of a family of sculptures installed at Assembly Bristol. Built with AJN steel, British artist, Alex Chinneck, utilised shot-blasted circular hollow sections to create these fully functioning ‘knotted’ lamp posts.

Standing at over four meters tall and weighing over 250kg each, the sculptures are part of a permanent installation in the heart of Bristol. Serving both public art and civic functions, the sculptures bridge old and new, blending in with the cast iron railings and stonework of Bristol’s historic floating harbour wall.
