Job Overview
Driving a company lorry on multi-drop runs within / around East Anglia, the Home Counties, the Midlands, London and even occasionally further afield. Assisting, as requested and as appropriate, with the unloading/loading of the lorry at various individual drops. Additionally, the role will include other duties within the operation of the business when driving duties are not available, primarily within the Yard, appropriate training will always be provided. These duties will be varied and will change to suit the day to day needs of the business.
Salary
Day shift: £37,900 per annum
Plus benefits, plus potential discretionary bonus, plus London allowance.
Overtime
Overtime available at time and a half, after 8 hours per day.
Shifts Available
Day Shift – Leaving the Yard no later than 06:00 when driving. Working 05:00 – 13:45 when carrying out Yard duties.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive in accordance with all relevant road traffic and tachograph laws
- Comply with all relevant legislation
- Perform daily checks at the start of shift each day prior to departure, ensuring the safety and security of loads
- Follow instructions of the delivery plan and maintain communication with the office should delays occur
- Promote high levels of customer service throughout all deliveries, ensuring correct materials are provided efficiently
- Aid the safe unloading of materials on customer premises in accordance with the Health and Safety guidelines as set by the Company
- Adhere to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times
- Be vigilant and aware of customer site rules and abide by these accordingly
- Ensure continued load security and safety
- Report any accidents, delivery issues or defects to the Logistics Team / Transport Manager as appropriate
- Understand and conform to all Company policies and procedures, specifically as stated within the Driver Handbook/Staff Handbook
- Attend all training courses as and when required
- Follow all safe systems of work at all times. Identify and report any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaise with the HS&E Department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary
- Actively engage in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervene to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary
- Follow the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, Policies and Procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances.
Qualifications
- Class 1 / C + E licence required
- Digital tachograph card required
- CPC qualification required.
Experience
- Experience with Forklifts or CombiLifts
- Experience transporting large or heavy goods
- Experience strapping down loads
- Experience with multi-drop runs.
