Salary

Day shift:    £23,800 – £30,000 per annum

Mid shift:    £27,000 – £34,500 per annum

Night shift: £30,750 – £39,0000 per annum

Dependent on experience/moving onto shift, plus benefits, plus discretionary bonus. These salary ranges include the shift premium where applicable.

Overtime

Pre authorised overtime available at time and a half, after 40 hours.

Shifts Available

Day shift    (40 hours per week): Monday to Friday (06:00 – 14:00)

Mid shift    (40 hours per week): Monday to Friday (14:00 – 22:00)

Night shift (40 hours per week): Sunday to Thursday (22:00 – 06:00)

This includes a 30 minute paid break. All training carried out on day shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate a selection of manual and CNC based machinery for metal processing
  • Process steel to customers’ requirements and tolerances. Work within the company’s quality system to ensure the full traceability of customer orders
  • Be competent at reading drawings, orders and following verbal instructions, be available to train others in this area
  • Able to work to high standards under your own initiative and pressure
  • Operate forklifts, Combilifts and the crane, safely and in a controlled manner
  • Working as part of our team of operators, processing steel to order, as and when orders are generated
  • Collating aforementioned orders, including banding, palletising, bagging and preparing them for loading
  • Loading, off loading of plate and parts from the plasma machines
  • Identify and locate different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment.

Experience

Experience in using measuring equipment, reading drawings, forklift, Combilift or side loader experience.
