Job Overview
You will assist with the purchasing and delivery of goods from suppliers, working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts Available
Day shift (40 hours per week): Monday to Friday (08:30 – 17:00)
This includes a 30 minute unpaid break.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Purchasing Department with administration work (entering purchase orders, checking order acknowledgements, updating prices and delivery dates)
- Arrange deliveries to distribution sites in Kentford and Henstridge, liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders
- Deal with Sales enquiries, sourcing material, negotiating prices and arranging delivery
- Report any market information/trends to Senior Management/Directors
- Supply cover for colleagues during times of absence and holidays
- Deal with general queries on products and pricing
- Manage stock and materials to ensure efficient delivery of products to customers
- Maintain strong relationships with ports by conducting regular meetings and feeding information back to the Purchasing Director
- Handle customs/import declarations
- Attend all training courses as and when required
- Follow all safe systems of work at all times. Identify and report any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaise with the HS&E Department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary
- Actively engage in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervene to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary
- Follow the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances
- Follow the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company’s objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact.
Experience
- Administration skills are beneficial
- Experience with Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
