AJN supports Saudi Arabian Golf Championships
Around 12.5 tonnes of our steel was incorporated into a luxurious corporate hospitality suite at a prestigious golf tournament in Saudi Arabia. The steel was supplied to the Arena Group, one of our customers that specialises in creating temporary ‘best in class’ structures to host guests and spectators at the world’s leading sporting and cultural events.
Arena was invited to create a piece of temporary modular architecture for the Saudi Golf Championships at the Royal Greens Golf Course located in the King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi, where invited guests could view the tournament in luxurious surroundings.
AJN was asked to provide 12.5 tonnes of cut and drilled steel, which was galvanised off-site, then shipped out by container from Southampton Docks to Jeddah and from there to the golf course.
The whole journey took about 35 days and about eight weeks to put it together on site. It comprises a reception area, three corporate meeting rooms, a shared working office, a public courtyard complete with water feature, an expansive buffet/socialising area, viewing balconies and a roof-top terrace with a shisha bar.
The beauty of the structure is that it is entirely modular so it can be disassembled and put back together again anywhere in the world. The modular aspect also adds to Arena’s green credentials, as every element, including internal fittings can be used time and again, wherever it is needed.
For example, the structure, complete with our steel, will now be seen at high profile UK sporting fixtures before being shipped out to Dubai for an event before finding its way back to Saudi ready for the 2020 golf tournament at Royal Green.
No one can say our steel isn’t well travelled!
